Shampoo Paint

So thanks to my friend Sharlee, I discovered a wonderful little site called Pinterest. It's a way cool social media site that allows you to "pin" awesome things that you find on the internet onto different boards. I've only pinned once but I love looking through and seeing what amazing things other people find.

There are a ton of ideas for everything from cooking to fashion. I love all the ideas for kids though and that is where I got this one: It's shampoo paint! (Found here.) 6 Tbs. Shampoo
2 Tbs. Water
(Mix with electric mixer until thick like shaving cream)
Add food coloring.

I let Jay "paint" on the sliding glass door and then hosed it off and tossed him in the tub.
Next time I'll set up the kiddie pool and put him in swim trunks. Oh and the glasses are because he was splashing the soap all over the place and I used adult shampoo. I was imagining the fit that would occur if he got any in his eyes!

Oh yay! I am glad you got onto pinterest! I am also glad you found fun ideas for kids. I haven't even thought about that, I bet I could find some great great ideas for summer school on there. I'll have to check it out!

I know this blog is really old but I only now saw it. This reminds me of another mix I know where you stir together 2 parts tempra paint to one part dish detergent. You can then use this to paint you windows with fun pictures! The dish soap helps you remove the paint easily when your ready to wash it off. You can paint with it just like regular paint! Its great for painting holiday stuff and what not and lasts a decent amount of time. Although I would suggest uping the ratio to 50-50 if your looking to wash the painting off same day. It makes clean up much easier and the only reason why you wouldn't use this ratio all the time is after about 3 days of drying it will crack right off. Also 50-50 soap and paint is a great "defense weapon" shall we say against child graffiti artists, because it works fine on paper but cleans up much better.
